Candidates begin by submitting an application for an open position. If selected to move forward, the first step in the interview process is typically a phone screening with a member of our Human Resources team. Subsequent interviews typically include meetings with the hiring manager and relevant team members to provide deeper insight into the role and team dynamics. In total, candidates may participate in up to three interviews, including the initial screening.

The format of the interviews—virtual or on-site—depends on the nature of the position. For roles that require on-site work, the final panel interview will typically be conducted in person at our Houston facility.

Yes. As part of our pre-employment process, Immatics requires all candidates to complete a comprehensive background check and drug screening to confirm employment eligibility.

The personality assessment is designed to help evaluate alignment between a candidate’s behavioral traits and the requirements of the role. Please note that assessment results are considered alongside other elements such as experience, skills and interview performance to form a holistic view of each candidate’s potential fit within Immatics.

While you may be temporarily authorized to work in the U.S., Immatics’ current hiring policy requires candidates to be either U.S. citizens or permanent residents (Green Card holders). We are unable to sponsor employment visas at this time.

Beyond your professional qualifications, we are interested in getting to know you as a person and understanding how you match up with Immatics’ mission, purpose, culture, and values.  During the interviews, we may ask you to describe how you have handled specific situations in the past — for example, how you approached a challenge or collaborated within a team — and what the outcome was. This helps us understand your way of thinking and problem solving, both of which are critical to the work that Immatics does.

If there are any specific requirements for an interview, such as preparing a presentation, we will always inform you in advance.

We also encourage you to prepare questions for us. The interviews are a two-way exchange to help both sides determine whether we are a good match.

If your application status in Workday still shows as “Under Review” or “Pending,” it means our recruitment team is actively reviewing candidates, and you have not been eliminated from consideration. We understand that each candidate’s circumstances are unique, and start dates can be discussed during the offer stage. In general, you can expect to begin employment approximately 3–4 weeks after signing your offer letter.
