Vice President Controlling*

Overview
We are currently seeking a Vice President Controlling* to head our Controlling department. You will work in an interdisciplinary environment with colleagues from Germany and the US (Houston, TX). Your analytical reasoning and action-oriented style as well as your organization and communication skills will contribute to the team’s success. The position is preferably located in Munich (Germany) and will directly report to our CFO.
Your mission
Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and the quarterly forecasts, including scenario planning.
  • Measure, analyze, and forecast performance in conjunction with annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and historical data from the prior year.
  • Lead the business planning process and valuation of the Company, including financial modeling.
  • Establish commercial modeling and prepare the Company for commercial operations.
  • Lead the risk management processes and reviews.
  • Prepare materials for the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.
  • Proactively drive improvements and growth by modernizing and digitalizing finance processes.
  • Lead the Controlling team in Germany and the US.
Your profile
  • An MBA or Master’s degree in Controlling, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline. 
  • 10+ years of practical experience in a similar role, preferably in an international environment. A background in the Life Science industry is essential.
  • Experience in financial and commercial modeling.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders like senior management, board members and investors.
  • Interest in working in a fast-paced environment and skilled in managing multiple high-priority deliverables. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with hands-on attitude and creative approach.
  • Analytical and structured work style. 
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. 
  • Strategic thinker, capable of driving financial initiatives and process improvements. 
  • Strong proficiency in English is a must, German language skills would be an additional advantage.
