Biomedical Software and Database Developer*

Overview
We are currently seeking a full-time Biomedical Software and Database Developer * (permanent position) to support our R&D teams to develop innovative product candidates for cancer immunotherapy. You will work at our site in Tuebingen (Germany) in an interdisciplinary environment with colleagues from our global research, manufacturing, quality control, and clinical departments and will contribute to our mission of developing new cancer immunotherapies to improve clinical outcomes for patients. Tuebingen is a vibrant University city close to Stuttgart in the south of Germany.
Your mission
  • Structure data and ensure data integrity in Immatics’ research and clinical databases.
  • Design, implement, and maintain web interfaces for our in-house databases.
  • Extend our MySQL database to enable real-time access to experimental data and facilitate interactive analysis.
  • Contribute to the automatic data processing which empowers our scientists to work efficiently and to improve cancer immunotherapies for patients.
  • Collaborate with life-science users and create user requirement specifications.
Your profile
  • You hold a PhD degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field, or have at least three years of relevant work experience.
  • You have relevant experience with database and software development in a biological or medical application context.
  • You are familiar with Linux-based systems and proficient in at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, or similar).  Knowledge of relational databases, interface development, or immunology is an advantage.
  • You have excellent communication skills in English, a high degree of independent working and analytical reasoning, and enjoy working in an interdisciplinary environment.
