We are currently seeking a

Scientist Target Research, off-target characterization

to support our team in the research and development of innovative immunotherapeutic products. You will work in Tuebingen (Germany) in an interdisciplinary environment with colleagues from all research and preclinical/ clinical development departments. Your analytical reasoning and action-oriented style as well as your organization and communication skills will contribute to the team’s success.

Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Characterization of the binding pattern and recognized peptide space of T cell receptors (TCRs) or monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) directed against peptide:MHC targets employing affinity chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • In silico analyses of relevant off-target peptides for TCRs and mAbs utilizing Immatics’ unique XPRESIDENT® platform. Advancement of prediction tools by integration of data from different ‘-omics’ approaches (transcriptomics, immunopeptidomics) and high-throughput screenings.
  • Independent coordination of your work in close interaction with a team of scientific experts from various departments. This includes communication and presentation in internal meetings and towards external partners.

Your Profile

You hold a PhD degree in life sciences or biotechnology and have a proven track record in protein chemistry. Ideally you have gained insights into peptide:MHC binder characterization and biologics development or have additional experience in cancer biology and cancer immunotherapy.

You enjoy working in an interdisciplinary team and with large datasets from different scientific fields. Knowledge in mass spectrometry, programming or relational databases is an advantage. You take careful processing and documentation of your results for granted. Your scientific excellence, extraordinary analytical competence and communication skills enable you to successfully contribute to projects as part of a team and to present your work internally or to external partners from the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.
