We are currently seeking a

Scientist Automation

to support our team in the development of innovative immunotherapeutic products. You will work in Tübingen (Germany) in an interdisciplinary environment with colleagues from all research departments. Your analytical reasoning and action-oriented style as well as your organization and communication skills will contribute to the team’s success.

Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Support the transfer of existing and future laboratory processes, in particular cell culture applications, onto our Tecan platforms driven by either Tecan Freedom EVOware® or Tecan Fluent Control. This includes close work with R&D scientists regarding development and optimization of Tecan workflows for respective areas to create flexible scripts and ensure optimal efficiency and performance.
  • Carry out ongoing system performance analysis based on error logs, live run interventions, root cause analysis, and trending errors to mitigate their recurrence. Set up and take care of regular system maintenance protocols and serve as primary contact with Tecan to ensure platform operability.
  • Oversee the integration of various modules (i.e. plate washers, centrifuges, automated liquid handling, etc.) on a Tecan platform. Previous experience with installing and servicing large integrated systems is desirable.
  • Work together with our R&D Organizational Development & IT departments to drive the integration of our Tecan platform infrastructure into a Signals eLN (electronic laboratory notebook) environment for data collection and subsequent analysis.

Your Profile

Desirably, you hold a PhD degree in life sciences or Engineering. You have hands-on experience in experimental immunology or/ and cellular and molecular biology. Experience with Tecan automation is mandatory. Experience with Python, Java, HTML, and other advanced programming languages is desirable. Professional experience in a GCLP environment and quality-related experience is also regarded as advantageous.

We expect a high degree of independent working and very good problem-solving skills of complex technical issues. You have excellent communication skills, both in English and German, and you are familiar with the requirements of commercial business and interaction with external partners. You are conversant with the establishment of quality assurance systems and you take careful editing and documenting of your results for granted. You embrace rapidly changing requirements with an open mind, think outside the box and show a high degree of flexibility in an environment which is marked by a constant striving for excellence. Your motivation is driven by your dedication to innovation and science. You approach tasks in a structured, reliable and foresighted manner, combined with an elevated level of individual responsibility, enthusiasm and strong social skills.
