Sr. HR Generalist

We are looking to add a Senior Human Resource Generalist to our US Human Resources Department! The primary objective of this position is to provide payroll support, compensation, performance and compliance resources functions including HRIS system implementation and support, annual benefits enrollment, light recruitment and onboarding of new employees.
The Sr. HR Generalist will work on-site in Houston, TX (can work up to 2 days remote per week) and will report to the HR Director. 
Your mission
Essential functions:
 Employee Information, Benefits Administration & Compensation
  • Responsible for all employee system changes (new hires, promotions, title changes, salary increases, and others) in different databases and systems. 
  • Enters employee benefits information into various systems as needed. 
  • Responsible for preparation of bi-weekly payroll.
  • Provides employees with necessary FMLA paperwork, completes, issues and tracks documentation and RTW days.
  • Reconciles monthly benefit invoices. Calculates employee payment portions during FMLA/STD and communicates payment amounts to Finance.
  • Conducts intake meetings with employees in order to establish paid and unpaid leave needs, provide paperwork and FMLA certifications.
  • Responsible for tracking STD/LTD, medical claims and monthly benefit invoices for all plans. 
  • Assists the HR Director during benefits open enrollment period. Provides employees with necessary information to make informed benefits decisions.
  • Assists the HR Director advising managers regarding potential promotions and hiring strategies.
  • Provides data to an annual benchmarking survey tool/company, researches salaries and salary bands on and aligns those to the IMTX data to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Makes compensation changes in various systems. 
 SOX & Legal Compliance
  • Assists the HR Director in SOX Compliance preparation (controls 133-139). Oversees that all SOX related paperwork is stored in proper files and is ready for easy audit presentation.
  • Responds to unemployment claims and makes sure that managers and employees adhere to different legislations and guidelines. 
  • Distributes Employee Handbook for review and signatures annually. 
 Performance Evaluations
  • Responsible for administering the annual evaluations process, manager and employee guidance, training, learning and implementation by assigned deadlines.
  • Partners with department managers to oversee timely employee goal setting, development planning, succession planning and performance appraisals. Mentors and guides managers in relation to content and deadlines.
  • Recommends performance evaluation system designs.  
  • Participates in the system creation - does the implementation work.  
  • Communicates performance system plans to managers and employees. 
  • Collects and analyses annual performance data to SMM, managers and employees.
 HRIS Implementation
  • Under the close guidance of the Director, HR, implements a new Global Human Resources Information System (HRIS) as a one-time project, and helps maintain it on an on-going basis. Assists employees of all levels with system maintenance and troubleshooting.
 Secondary functions:
  • Collaborates with the Global HR Team in Germany to align all processes globally.
  • Assists the department with event planning and creation.
  • Participates in HR specific projects as needed.
  • Responsible for completion and annual market updates of the Role Matrix, manager training and role alignment with the global sites. 
  • Prepares and analyzes weekly HR reports in relation to the recruiting metrics and employee requests.
  • Assists Director, HR for HR Metrics & weekly Dashboard implementation and maintenance. 
  • Provides data to an annual benchmarking survey tool/company, researches salaries and salary bands on and aligns those to the IMTX data to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Responsible for creation of Annual Employee Satisfaction Survey and company participation in Best Workplaces in Houston.
  • May do light recruiting as needed.
Your profile
Required education and experience
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. 
  •  Three to five years of previous HR experience related to payroll, benefits administration, compliance, compensation and performance systems.
  • Proficient technology user (Microsoft Office, ATS, HRIS, databases)
Preferred education and experience:
  • Technologically savvy (advanced Excel knowledge) 
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience with HRIS implementation preferred.
  •  Detail oriented and accurate in daily work execution.
  •  Friendly and interested in people while achieving daily goals.
