Senior Scientist – Immunology

Overview
The primary purpose of the Senior Scientist Immunology position is to conduct research aimed at developing novel adoptive cell therapies (ACT) for solid tumors, which includes: development and conduct of immune-based assays for evaluation of experimental T cell products; development and conduct of immune-based screening assays for source material selection; design and development of ACT products by subject matter knowledge acquisition and cellular engineering.   
Your mission
Essential functions: 
  •  Provides scientific expertise for hypothesis forming experiment design, data acquisition, data analysis and interpretation for the Immunology team and collaborating product design and development activities. 
  •  Supports the design of Immatics next-generation allogenic ACT by acquiring and communicating up to date subject matter knowledge including critical literature reading and conference attendance 
  •  Supports the Immunology Directors and Immunology team with timely experiment design, laboratory personnel supervision, hands-on implementation as needed, troubleshooting, result evaluation and verbal and/or written reporting to stakeholders in weekly meetings.  

  • Supports the implementation of systems, policies, programs, and procedures/ standard operating procedures for the company’s facilities including:  
  • Facility systems, equipment, utilities, and services 
  • Calibration and preventative maintenance  
  • Compliance with local state and federal regulations including OSHA, EHS  
  • Manages contracts and scheduling of outside services/vendors for the above 

  • Acts as 24/7 contact and responder for alarm monitoring/callouts 
  • Ensures documents and records are kept in order  
  • Project management for responsible tasks

Work environment: 
 This position works in a typical office and/or clinical lab environment with moderate noise levels and uses phone, computer, office equipment and supplies on a regular basis. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, biological agents/ pathogens and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, risk of electrical shock, sharps, or cuts, while performing experiments.

Travel required: 
 1-3 trips per year for conferences and meetings 
Your profile
Required education and experience 
  • Masters degree  
  • Minimum of five years of research experience in an immunology lab, assay development and related activities to include live cell experiment design.  
     
  • Solid scientific and operating experience in the relevant field – T-cell immunology, including the related assay methodologies suck as multicolor flow cytometry.  
  •  Fully conversant with operating MS Office 

 
Preferred education and experience 
  • Ph.D.or M.D in related field  
  •  Knowledge in tumor Immunology and Immunotherapy  
  •  Knowledge, skills, and experience with work involving viral and non-viral DNA and RNA vectors  

  •  DNA cloning, in vivo immunology and tumor immunotherapy models.  
  • Immunofluorescence or IHC microscopy.  
  • Two years of direct personnel supervision
