Scientist Transcriptomics / Genomics*

We are currently seeking a Scientist Transcriptomics/Genomics* to support our team in the research and development of innovative immunotherapeutic products. You will work in Tuebingen (Germany) in an interdisciplinary environment with colleagues from all research and preclinical/ clinical development departments. Your analytical reasoning and action-oriented style will contribute to the team’s success in translating scientific findings into clinical applications.
Your mission
Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following tasks:
  • Single-cell / Spatial RNA Sequencing:  You will apply your professional knowledge to help develop, strengthen and expand Immatics’ single-cell and spatial gene expression analysis pipeline. In close interaction with  our Bioinformatics Team you will implement cutting-edge sequencing technology to enable high-throughput, next-generation strategies for the enhanced validation of Immatics’ targets.
  • DNA/RNA Sequencing: You will utilize your scientific excellence and organizational talent to assist in the coordination and expansion of Immatics’ Next-Generation Sequencing activities. Together with our scientific experts in target selection, validation and bioinformatics, you will broaden NGS-based target characterization and validation to ultimately contribute to the development of novel treatments for cancer patients.
  • Long-read Sequencing: Within the dynamic field of target validation, you will contribute your professional experience with third-generation sequencing technologies to implement suitable strategies that allow novel, sequencing-based validation of individual targets or target groups.
Your profile
You hold a PhD degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Medicine, Pharmacy or have been comparably educated. You have proven your scientific excellence and your ability to account for complex projects. As a sequencing expert you have a deep understanding of various sequencing technologies and applications, and are perfectly familiar with all processing steps from experimental design to data evaluation. Ideally, you have a strong background in single-cell analyses and are acquainted with data processing tools (e.g. Seurat). Hands-on experience in sequencing sample preparation is an advantage. Knowledge of immunology and/ or oncology would be a plus. We expect a high degree of independent working, analytical reasoning and excellent communication skills in English. You cherish to deal intensively with NGS data and you take careful processing and documenting of your results for granted. You approach tasks in a structured, reliable and foresighted manner, combined with an elevated level of individual responsibility, enthusiasm and strong social skills.
