Overview
We are currently seeking a Scientist Histology* to strengthen our Target Bioanalytics department. You will work in Tübingen (Germany) in an interdisciplinary environment with colleagues from all research and preclinical/ clinical development departments in Germany and Houston (TX). Your analytical reasoning and action-oriented style as well as your organization and communication skills will contribute to our global team’s success.
Your mission
Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Design and coordinate histological analyses of different sample types to assess expression of tumor-associated antigens and other markers characterizing the immune landscape
- Evaluate tissue stainings through routine microscopy as well as digital whole slide image analyses and interpret the results in the context of complementary data generated by the Target Validation team
- Expand and optimize our portfolio of histological techniques and our target validation pipeline through identification of novel technologies, as well as leading or supporting their implementation at Immatics
- Thoroughly document your results compliant with regulatory requirements and present them to internal and external stakeholders
Your profile
You hold a PhD degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Medicine, Pharmacy or have been comparably educated and proven your scientific excellence. Ideally, you have gained insights into the histology based validation of therapeutic targets, by immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and/ or laser capture microdissection. Previous experience in digital pathology and computational image analysis (specifically HALO AI™) is desirable. Knowledge of immunology and/ or oncology is an advantage. Your scientific competence and experience enable you to successfully contribute to interdisciplinary projects as part of our team. You are interested in translating scientific findings into clinical applications and you take careful processing and documenting your results for granted. We expect a high degree of independent working, analytical reasoning and excellent communication skills in English. You embrace rapidly changing requirements with an open mind, think outside the box and show a high degree of flexibility in an environment which is marked by a constant striving for excellence.
