Overview
We are currently seeking a Scientist Cell Line Management* to strengthen our Target Bioanalytics department. You will work in Tübingen (Germany) in an interdisciplinary environment with colleagues from all research and preclinical/ clinical development departments in Germany and Houston (TX). Your analytical reasoning and action-oriented style as well as your organization and communication skills will contribute to the team’s success.
Your mission
Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Cell culture: You will contribute to the planning, coordination, and supervision of our cell culture lab activities. You will be responsible for cell line characterization by flow cytometry. With your previous experience in single cell isolation, purification and cloning techniques, you will coordinate and supervise the generation of cell line models and contribute to the development of new methods to answer target-specific questions. Thorough documentation compliant with QM requirements and presentation of deliverables to internal and external stakeholders will equally be part of your responsibilities.
- Cell line banking: You will be responsible for cell line selection for target validation activities as well as for cell line procurement. You will maintain a well-documented overview of our in-house cell line storage and cell line associated data. You will continuously strive to improve the running processes and to further promote the development of cell line related concepts in the in-house database.
- Cell line project management: With your experience in generation of stable cell lines and single cell cloning, you will successfully manage our running cell line projects with external cell line service providers by ensuring that the timelines and quality requirements are met. You will continuously assess the need for cell lines or cell-based models in close collaboration with process owners throughout different departments.
Your profile
You hold a Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Medicine, Pharmacy or have been comparably educated and you have proven your scientific excellence. Ideally, you have gained insights into the various approaches of cell line model-based validation of targets for (cancer) immunotherapy. Hands-on experience in genetic modification of cell lines (e.g., transfection, transduction, gene editing), single cell isolation and purification techniques, and flow cytometry is desirable. Knowledge of immunology and/ or oncology would be a plus. Your excellent communication skills in English enable you to successfully contribute to interdisciplinary projects as a part of our team. You are interested in translating scientific findings into clinical applications and you take careful processing and documenting of your results for granted. We expect a high degree of independent working and analytical reasoning.
