HR Generalist I or II – Onboarding

Permanent employee, Full-time · Houston (TX)

The primary objective of this position is to provide excellent service to employees during onboarding, offboarding, training, and other HR related function supports. In addition to these, HR Generalist I/II will be responsible for light recruitment.   
Your mission
Essential functions: 
  • Responsible for employee pre-hire processes including data collection, communication with new employees, new staff orientation scheduling, and training completion. 
  • Conducts New Hire Orientation with the new hires and participates in the New Joiners global company meeting with the company CEO. 
  • Guides new hires through enrollment and communicates any changes to the rest of the HR team. 
  • Responsible for preparation of monthly Employee of the Month email correspondence to line managers and employees. Presents the final awards out to all employees in monthly company meetings in person. 
  • Responsible for employee offboarding, technology collection, exit interview set up, and other offboarding related functions. 
  • Responsible for performance management administration and double checking that deadlines are met in accordance with the company policies (initial performance, annual reviews, etc.).  
  • Under the guidance of the HR Director, communicates and trains employees and managers on performance management best practices. 
  • Assist HR Director in annual training curriculum selection and administration of the same. 
  • Responsible for employee relations investigations processes. 
  • Serves as employee advocate in any people related matters to make sure the culture at Immatics is inclusive and respectful. 
  • Responsible for creation and global communication of the monthly HR Newsletter.  

Secondary functions: 
  • Collaborates with the Global HR Team in Germany to align all processes globally. 
  • Assists the administration department with event planning and creation. 
  • Participates in HR specific projects as needed.  
  • May do light recruiting as needed.

Work environment: 
This is a sedentary position (at least 50% of time) in a typical office environment. There may be frequent interruptions with moderate noise levels and frequent use of printers, copiers, scanners, computers and other office equipment. Ability to sit, talk, walk, hear and communicate verbally and in writing is required. Occasional lifting of objects up to 25 lbs is expected.  
Physical demands: 

  • Communicating Verbally – expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to others to convey detailed spoken instructions or other workers accurately, loudly or quickly. 
  • Hearing – the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds one-on-one, group or conference, telephone, and other sounds. 
  • Keyboarding – entering data or text into a computer or other machine by means of a keyboard. Devices include a traditional keyboard, 10 key-pad, touch screens and others.  
  • Lifting - raising or lowering an object (up to 25 lbs) from one level to another (includes upward pulling). Carrying is to transport an object – usually by holding it in the hands or arms but may occur on the shoulder. 
  • Near Visual Acuity – clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (working with small objects, reading small print, including the use of computers).  
  • Pushing - Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from the object. 
  • Pulling - Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves toward the force.  
  • Sitting – remaining in a sitting position for at least 50% of the time. 
  • Standing/Walking - remain on one's feet in an upright position at a workstation.  
  • Stooping – occasional bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist - requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles. 

Travel required: 
  •  Very rarely – may require travelling domestically or internationally once per year. 
Your profile
Required education and experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.  
  • 1 to two years of previous HR experience related to administrative work, onboarding, training or employee relations.  
  • Proficient technology user (Microsoft Office, ATS, HRIS, databases). 
  • Great interpersonal communication skills, with ability to proofread, edit and write material (emails, newsletters) for global audiences. 
  • Solid public speaking skills with self-confidence when speaking in front of large body of employees (150). 

Preferred education and experience: 
  • Technologically savvy (PowerPoint & Excel knowledge are highly desirable).  
Work authorization/security clearance requirements 
Legal eligibility to work in the United States is required. Immatics participates in E-Verify and all new employees will be subject to the Department of Homeland Security requirements for employment.
