Working @ Immatics

The Data Scientist position is a collaborative and interdisciplinary position to develop data science tools and utilize multivariate data analytics to perform predictive modeling and correlative analytics. S/he will support activities involving but not limited to collection, compilation, and analyses of cell therapy manufacturing data to derive correlations with factors affecting manufacturability, clinical outcomes, and process improvements.  Candidates must have strong background in multivariate statistical analysis of large data sets and development of predictive algorithms and models using a variety of platforms. S/he is expected to provide innovative solutions to manage evolving data sets and employ analytical tools based on their experience.  Candidate must be self-motivated and driven to work independently.   

Essential functions: 

• Analyze cell therapy data using basic and advanced statistical techniques using a variety of platforms 
• Develop solutions for managing large and evolving data sets 
• Develop predictive models for our cell therapy platforms using existing manufacturing data 
• Communicate insights gained from data analysis across departments and interdisciplinary teams 
• Partner with internal and external teams to improve platform capabilities around data modeling, data visualization, experimentation, and data architecture  

 

Secondary functions: 

• Participate in root cause analysis or investigations into specific manufacturing outcomes based on available data

Work environment:  
This position works in a typical office and/or clinical lab environment with moderate noise levels and uses phone, computer, office equipment and supplies on a regular basis. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, biological agents/ pathogens and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, risk of electrical shock, sharps, or cuts, while performing experiments.    Physical demands:

Required education and experience 

• Master’s in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field 
• 4+ years of experience manipulating data sets and building analytics models  
• Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: Python, SQL, R 
• Cell therapy experience 
• Background in Bioinformatics  

 

Preferred education and experience 

• Coursework in Biology, Immunology, and other related biological sciences 
• Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: PowerPoint, Periscope, Business Objects, Power BI 
• PhD in statistics 
• Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job
