Associate Director, Quality Assurance

Overview
We are currently seeking a Full Time ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, QUALITY ASSURANCE to support our QUALITY ASSURANCE US team. This position is based, and will work in Houston, TX. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the functioning of the Quality Assurance US department.
Your mission
​​​​The main responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Ensure smooth operation of Quality Assurance (QA) US department.
  • Implement the QA strategy commensurate with the overall plan for the company 
  • Develop budgets and monitor expenditures related to QA activities and programs.
  • Provide leadership to the QA department to ensure that teamwork, high morale, and innovation are fundamental components of the team.
  • Direct and maintain quality systems in support of Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) manufacturing in a manner consistent with global quality systems, Immatics Corporate requirements, external standards and current regulatory requirements (primarily FDA and PEI/EMA) and others as needed.
  • Oversee all aspects of QA operations including but not limited to executed batch and test record review and product release; on the floor QA support; internal and external audits; vendor qualification; QA SOP and Change Control approval; and OOS, Deviation, and QA CAPA approval.
  • Build and maintain expertise in the QA team, including development of staff. 
  • Apply aseptic manufacturing experience, including aseptic process validation, to ensure that CGT operations meet regulatory expectations and requirements for aseptic manufacturing at all phases of product development.
  • Apply knowledge of phase-appropriate quality systems to the CGT life cycle.
  • Ensure annual company-wide training on GMPs.
Your profile
The qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of direct line management experience.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical quality environment, with a minimum of 7 years in GMP QA.
  • Extensive knowledge of US and EU GMP (21 CFR 210 and 211, Eudralex Volume 4, ICH guidelines).
