Associate Director, Project Management/Project Lead

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Lead – Associate Director, Project Management to strengthen our Project Management and Translational Development (PMTD) department in the research and development of innovative immunotherapeutic products. You will work at one of our sites in Houston, TX, or Tübingen or Munich (Germany) in an interdisciplinary and international environment with colleagues from R&D as well as various other departments across the Company.
The PMTD department oversees preclinical and clinical projects from our own drug development pipeline and collaboration programs with biotech and pharma partners
Your mission
The essential functions of this position will include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Responsible for development project(s) of high impact and visibility and you will be accountable for the achievement of project objectives and milestones. 
  • Work closely with the Development Lead and Department Heads to steer the project towards success. 
  • Mentor the Project Manager and support their role in the successful management of the project team. 
  • Manage the interdisciplinary R&D team to successfully achieve the project goals on time and on budget.
  • Coordinate the cooperation of all departments involved – in Germany as well as in the US
  • Address research and development tasks with the experts, develop and present convincing solutions and concepts.
Your profile
The required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Successful completion of your doctorate in the field of life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or a comparable education. 
  • Significant experience in drug development (5+ years) and the immuno-oncology space including insights into the specifics of cellular therapies (TCR-T or CAR-T) and early phase clinical trials. 
  • Strong science driven analytical thinking and the desire and capabilities to motivate and manage cross-functional teams in a matrix structure towards achieving the strategic project goals. 
  • Your scientific mindset, your excellent organizational and communication skills and your insights into drug development enable you to successfully cope with your tasks. Implementing strategic aspects and overall business needs into your daily work is perfectly natural to you. You are open to dynamically developing requirements and demonstrate a high degree of flexibility. You enjoy working in an environment where excellence is a constant requirement.
