Overview
Position Summary/objective:Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Company's financial records and ensure that all financial reporting is accurate and timely for processing invoices and journal entries including, process development/improvements, SOX compliance, interdepartmental communication, and other accounting special projects. He/She will ensure compliance with various accounting regulations and standards.
Your mission
Essential functions:- AP/Vendor Account Reconciliation - Assist the Company’s AP function as needed, including in the creation of invoices, vendor payments, reconciling accounts, and resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise evaluate and reconcile all vendor statements and manage all inquiries
- Verify all expense reports comply with company policies
- Fixed Assets - Oversee the fixed asset management process, including maintaining accurate records, tracking depreciation, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- General Ledger/Monthly Close - Manage the general ledger and ensure all transactions are properly classified. Maintain the integrity of the Company's financial records by ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
- Sales & Use Taxes - Manage the sales & use tax process, including filing sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and providing support to other departments as needed Assist various departments with purchase orders relating to G/L coding
- Process/Continuous Improvement - Maintain a thorough understanding of the Company's financial systems and processes. Continually improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Reporting to the head of accounting in Germany in terms of the consolidation of our group financials, quarterly published with SEC
- External Audit Assistance – Assist in the annual audit process, working closely with Company’s external auditors to ensure compliance and timely completion
- Other - Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external auditors. Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and standards. Participating in various job duties/responsibilities and special projects as directed or determined on own initiative.
- Leadership - Providing leadership toward additional value-added activities and supporting operational and departmental excellence, while fostering teamwork between all functions. Maintaining honest and ethical conduct, including the ethical handling of actual or apparent conflicts of interest between personal and professional relationships
Work environment: This is a sedentary position (at least 50% of time) in a typical office environment. There may be frequent interruptions with moderate noise levels and frequent use of printers, copiers, scanners, computers and other office equipment. Ability to sit, talk, walk, hear and communicate verbally and in writing is required. Occasional lifting of objects up to 25 lbs is expected.
Your profile
Required education and experience- Bachelor´s degree in accounting
- Excel Intermediate level
- Must have 2-5 year-experience in a similar role
Preferred education and experience- MBA/Master´s a plus
- Professional certification preferred (CPA)
Competencies- Ability to identify and resolve problems
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Business Central ERP experience (preferred)
- Leadership skills
Travel required: no travel required, however, once a year ability to Germany would be ideal.
