We are currently seeking a

Scientist Target Validation (f/m/d)

to support our team in the research and development of innovative immunotherapeutic products. 

You will work in Tuebingen (Germany) in an interdisciplinary environment with colleagues from all research and preclinical/ clinical development departments. Your analytical reasoning and action-oriented style as well as your organization and communication skills will contribute to the team’s success. The position is initially limited to two years.

Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Scientific project management: With your professional knowledge and organizational skills you will coordinate the cross-functional core process “Target Validation” within the Discovery department. In this role, you are responsible for the design and preparation of individualized target validation plans. In close interaction with all scientific experts supervising the different parts of Immatics’ target validation pipeline, you will review the progress of target validation and assure timely delivery of target validation packages. 
  • Scientific advancement of target validation: You will deploy your scientific excellence and your professional creativity to expand Immatics’ target validation pipeline. You autonomously develop innovative strategies to optimally validate individual targets or target groups and present your concepts to the target validation team. Implementation and supervision of novel laboratory processes, as well as data analysis and presentation, might equally be part of your responsibilities, depending on your skills and preferences.

Your profile

You hold a PhD degree in life sciences, biotechnology, medicine, pharmacy or have been comparably educated and proven your scientific excellence and your ability to account for complex projects. Ideally, you have gained insights into the validation of targets for (cancer-)immunotherapy, preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotech company. Knowledge of immunology and/ or oncology is an advantage. Your scientific competences and experience and your excellent communication skills enable you to successfully contribute to interdisciplinary projects as part of a team.

You are interested in translating scientific findings into clinical applications. You cherish to be challenged to deal intensively with data and publications from various areas, to subsequently develop concepts and solutions as well as to present and implement them in a convincing manner. You enjoy coordinating interdisciplinary teams and you take careful processing and documenting of your results for granted.
