We are currently seeking a

Scientist Target Validation (f/m/d)

to support our team in the research and development of innovative immunotherapeutic products.

You will work in Tuebingen (Germany) in an interdisciplinary environment with colleagues from all research and preclinical/ clinical development departments. Your analytical reasoning and action-oriented style as well as your organization and communication skills will contribute to the team’s success.

Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Scientific advancement of target validation: You will deploy your scientific excellence and your professional creativity to expand Immatics’ target validation pipeline. You autonomously develop innovative strategies to optimally validate individual targets or target groups and present your concepts to the target validation team. Implementation and supervision of novel laboratory processes, as well as data analysis and presentation, might also be part of your responsibilities, depending on your skills and preferences.
  • Target validation by histology: As member of our histology team you will design, coordinate and evaluate histological analyses to assess the expression of tumor-associated antigens. Thorough documentation compliant with regulatory requirements and presentation of your results to internal and external stakeholders will equally be part of your responsibilities.

Your profile

You hold a PhD degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Medicine, Pharmacy or have been comparably educated and you have proven your scientific excellence. Ideally, you have gained insights into the histology-based validation of targets for (cancer-)immunotherapy or are familiar with alternative target validation approaches (e.g. NGS, in vitro models, etc.). Knowledge of immunology and/ or oncology is an advantage. Your excellent communication skills enable you to successfully contribute to interdisciplinary projects as part of our team. You are interested in translating scientific findings into clinical applications and you take careful processing and documenting of your results for granted.
