We are currently seeking a

Scientist Next Generation Sequencing (f/m/d)

to support our team in the research and development of innovative immunotherapeutic products.

You will work in Tuebingen (Germany) in an interdisciplinary environment with colleagues from all research and preclinical/ clinical development departments. Your analytical reasoning and action-oriented style as well as your organization and communication skills will contribute to the team’s success in translating scientific findings into clinical applications. The position is initially limited to two years.

Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Target Discovery: You will apply your professional knowledge to optimize Immatics’ gene expression analysis pipeline. In close interaction with our scientific experts in target selection and bioinformatics you will support and extend our XPRESIDENT® technology to ultimately improve our target selection.
  • Target Validation: Within the dynamic field of target validation you will contribute your outstanding ingenuity to implement suitable strategies enabling optimal NGS-based validation of individual targets or target groups.  
  • Personalized Medicine: You will deploy your scientific excellence and your creativity to tailor Immatics’ NGS pipelines for personalized medicine. In close interaction with our Bioinformatics Team you develop innovative strategies to promote the delivery of personalized treatments to individual cancer patients.

 

Your profile

You hold a PhD degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Medicine, Pharmacy or have been comparably educated. You have proven your scientific excellence and your ability to account for complex projects. As an NGS expert you have a deep understanding of NGS technologies and are perfectly familiar with all processing steps from experimental design to data evaluation. Ideally, you have a strong background in transcriptome analysis and are acquainted with visualization tools (e.g. IGV). Hands-on experience in NGS sample preparation is an advantage. Knowledge of immunology and/ or oncology would be a plus.

We expect a high degree of independent working, analytical reasoning and excellent communication skills in English. You cherish to deal intensively with NGS data and you take careful processing and documenting of your results for granted. You embrace rapidly changing requirements with an open mind, think outside the box and show a high degree of flexibility in an environment which is marked by a constant striving for excellence. Your motivation is driven by your passion for innovation and science. You approach tasks in a structured, reliable and foresighted manner, combined with an elevated level of individual responsibility, enthusiasm and strong social skills.
